I've got news. For me, it's great news. For you... well, it depends on how much you like my work. I've got a RPG producing piece of software. Now, before you roll your eyes and say, "Yes, A-kun, we all have a paint program." No, I mean an actual program that can produce an RPG. And so long as I put the company's logo on the product, I can sell, distribute and produce as much as I want.
There are a few problems, though. 1) It can only make things for the Sony Playstation, meaning there's only three things that could run it. A Sony Playstation, a Playstation 2 or a Playstation Emulator on your computer. 2) I'm still working out the ins and outs of my new RPG. There are some limitations with the software (duh!) as well, most of the graphics are pre-made (I could create my own, but you've no doubt noticed that I can barely draw), meaning that the most I can do is screw around twith them to my heart's desire and animate them. I can even add sound effects to them! WAI! 3) I'm unsure if I can create the feel of the game on this software. The RPG that I've begun is called "Reverse Dungeon". You start at the bottom and try to get out. If I can do it, I'm going to make it so that you can choose one of three main 'Heroes' and take your own path. Each path will, if I can manage it, have different allies for you to hook up with. Also, you aren't going to fighting just one single element. You'll be facing one of the four Minions of the Goddess who shoved you down there. Each has their own theme, but I'll be sure to make some references to my Web Comic in there. Maybe I'll make a hero called Invincible. ^_^
The biggest problem with all this is creating the four Minions with specific elements. Unfortuantely, while the game is diverse enough to allow me to create even food and items to raise your EXP, HP, MP, etc., and I can designate when someone gets a Special Attack or a spell, I'm unsure if I can get that certain unique feeling that'll make it a cool game and not a lame-ass batch of cliques. Should I go for Sarcastic? Maybe Dramatic? Or pure Porn-er, I mean, Slapstick?
Just as a preview (even though it'll probably take me three months to make the actual game, a lot of it will be making the dialogue and maps), I'll show you what sort of Minions I'll have.
CPU - No game would be complete without some out of place Robots. Thankfully, by the time you face him, you'll have some kick-ass spells and some kick-ass armor.
Evil Overlord - He's in command of the Dream Realm. His power is astounding, but his defense sucks.
Ogre - The first boss, he's in command of the Monsters. He's more uncontrollably violent than he is evil.
The Princess - Humans are evil too and she'll prove it. She's got everyone else under her command and she'll send even little boys and old women at you. Not that you can't just kick their asses. I mean, please!
I've even got a few spells that are kind of amusing. Like Wake Up Kick, which cures Sleep. Or Pinch, which cures Silence. Or FACE PUNCH!!!, which causes Silence. Then, there's Fallen, the ultimate attack spell, which can only be used on one enemy and will only be used 1% of the time by the final boss.
